This is a slight twist on the “What They Say Now” update format (my ongoing project to collect 20-year updates from the original Black, White, Other book interviewees, a project prompted by curiosity as well as the recent release of the ebook version, and which you can find here) — but it’s too exciting not to share.

Debo Adegbile has been nominated by President Obama to be the new assistant attorney general for civil rights, and today was his nomination hearing in front of the Senate’s Committee on the Judiciary.
